Moschino: Ready-To-Wear SS23

Inflation – its the scourge of our times, but shoot it through Jeremy Scott’s Moschino prism and something joyful happens. The designer took the idea of inflation literally – integrating blow-up details into almost every look. The show opened with a tribute to Franco Moschino’s signature heart motif, blown up on the front of a chic black jacket. Little inflatable question marks (another Moschino signature) danced down the front of a dress. Suits had inflatable lapels, dresses sported rubber ring hems.

The fun didn’t stop there, Scott also added blow-up sun hats, hair scrunchies, bags and boots. “No matter what is going on, we have to save space for joy, right? The darker it is, the lighter I have to be,” said the designer of his uplifting approach. Imaan Haman closed the show in a mermaid gown accessorised with a fabulous stole made from inflatable cartoon characters. Call it the Jeremy effect. You couldn’t help but smile.
