Olivier Rousteing knows his woman. She loves glamour and believes in making an effort. She’s not the sort to leave the house without make-up Kylie Jenner is her pin-up and created the makeup look for this show along with a sell-out, limited edition Balmain palette). When it comes to clothes, she dresses like every day is her birthday. She’s up for bold shapes and daring designs. A one-legged sequin jumpsuit? Why not. Double pink denim? Definitely. The Balmain woman is utterly fearless. Trip hazard flares worn with a fabulously oversized sequin blazer are the kind of exaggerated proportions that get this extraordinary woman excited. She’s already planned where she’s going to wear one of Rousteing’s fabulous drop-shoulder pleated gown (The Arabian Nights meets Studio 54) and the faceted crystal mini dresses of the finale. Olivier Rousteing’s great achievement is that Balmain isn’t just a fashion brand it’s a way of life.
