Sportmax: Ready-to-wear AW21

This season, Sportmax took a twisted turn. Kicking off proceedings with a shattered chandelier and an eerie soundtrack, this morning’s show at Milan Fashion Week was an ode to “empowered, authentic, free women.” There was a triumphant mood on display, defined by the Sportmax team’s yearning for their return to the dancefloor.

As models walked through an almost pitch-black catwalk, they eventually reached a party – a symbol for better times to come – where unapologetic hedonism was cut into oversized suiting, satin slip dresses and iridescent parachute gowns in braggadocious proportions. There’s a hopeful air to these clothes, they deserve to be seen, lived in and worn whilst dancing to the crack of dawn. When the time finally comes, what a moment that will be.
